For as long as I can remember I've always had a stash of embroidery threads. Back in my high school days, when dinosaurs still roamed the earth (!) I even remember embroidering on a pair of my jeans. Pretty sure I was the only girl with embroidered jeans...but I also wore cowboy boots and no one did that either. I still love embroidery and my love affair with boots hasn't waned either.
So when I read that Teresa McFayden was offering an online, work at your own pace, freestyle embroidery class I hopped aboard. What a fun ride!
Three times a weeks she adds another little piece/or assignment, if you will, to add to your work-in-progress. I am totally loving this class!
It's made me remember why I loved stitching in the first place...
...so much so that I even started a second one that isn't related to the class...
I should probably just stick to the class project as I'm not quite caught up. But you know how it is...an idea forms that's not quite right for the project at hand, but it would be for another...and before you know it you're off chasing that creative muse.
You do that too, right?
Or is it just me? After all, I was the girl who wore cowboy boots and embroidered jeans way before it was the cool thing to do...
It could just be me. Nevertheless, I am so glad I took this class. It's rekindled my creative juices. Juices that were running dry...so for that alone, thank you, Teresa!
Oooh, I LOVE how your sampler is coming. And I love your other sampler too. You're so creative. I love how you've branched out and made it your own . . . not just a complete replica of Teresa's!

Off to sit in the line for a car wash to do some more..........then school pick up after that for some more stitching. It is so addicting:) Enjoy!

Embroidery on jeans ... why YES I resemble that remark! I remember doing a red rose on someone's (long gone) jean jacket. I did make a pillow out of my cut off jeans with the blue bird of happiness on them :)
Your sampler is delightful Sue ... very inspiring!!!
I {heart} embroidery along with you and your sweet ways!!!

Hello sweet friend! I just returned from catching up on your posts! Am loving your steampunk muse....keep it up!
Why am I not surprised that you embroidered on your jeans and a red rose?! I embroidered a chambray shirt for the Mr. when he was 17. When I think back of how girly it was {and he actually wore it} I laugh out loud. Just like the jean jacket, it is long gone.
Always so fun to see your sweet little messages in my inbox!
xoxo

this is too beautiful - i love every little detail! it made me remember my first embroidery...as a "consequence" for doodling a peace sign on my jeans (does that date me?) my mom made me embroider over it...i don't think she expected me to enjoy it so much! thanks for the memory!
